Lightbulb Learning Services

Amy Stempel, Founder

Everyone needs a helping hand at some point or another. Many otherwise high performing students sometimes find themselves requiring some help with the most critical academic skills, which are quite separate from academic knowledge--skills such as analytical reading and writing across all disciplines, academic organization, and task planning and follow through.

Has your student experienced any of the following...

  1. Bulleta difficult academic transition to secondary school?

  2. Bulletput off writing essays, starting long-term projects, and revising for tests until the last minute because he doesn't know how to begin?

  3. Bulletrelied primarily on verbal explanations rather than reading in order to understand concepts?

  4. Bullethad a hard time learning from and keeping up with her class assigned reading?

The good news is that there is a solution that prepares students to be successful, providing them with the tools to help themselves and grow academically.

Academic counseling is more comprehensive than regular tuition in that its works with the whole child to develop strategies to improve performance in all subjects. Lightbulb Learning Services provides secondary school students with effective academic, organizational, and cognitive skills to foster success in a competitive secondary environment.

And we do it all in a relaxed fun environment--“learning in disguise.”

We also help teams of teachers develop the instructional strategies to help students acquire these skills.

We do not shy away from students who are struggling. In fact, it is these students who most need our services! In addition, we are able to work with older students (grades 11 & 12) and teachers via email and skype.

Thinking+Learning for Life!

Amy Stempel was recommended to us as a tutor to help our son with his academic writing skills. As parents we have seen our son flourish in confidence and have also seen an increase in his grades as he continues to make great strides forward in his writing skills. He thoroughly enjoys his sessions with Amy and considers her an invaluable mentor. Thank you Amy as our household is now calm whilst homework is being done!
